Generation Bold: The Fountain of Truth About Aging was one of the first podcasts to speak directly to listeners about the experience of aging. The concept arose from my professional background as a consultant in healthcare, assisted living, and senior communities. Navigating these systems and providing services for older adults, including my years in elder law (I co-founded the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys and practiced for 35 years), revealed a fundamental truth: the focus is often on the challenges of aging, rather than the unique contributions older adults make.
I felt a shift was needed—to celebrate the richness and vitality aging can bring. With that mission in mind, I launched the Generation Bold podcast and blog, which you can enjoy here.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was invited to serve as the first Executive Director of the Kitalys Institute, dedicated to delaying and preventing age-related diseases. This experience deepened my study of biological and cognitive aging. I aimed to translate complex scientific insights into clear, actionable steps for my audience, and I applied many of these "hacks" to my own life. Now 76 years old, my biological age is closer to 70—and I've managed to sustain that for the past six years.
I shared these insights with my audience, featuring interviews with top aging experts and medical leaders.
I soon realized the most challenging part of healthy aging isn't just eating right or exercising; it's finding ways to stay relevant and make a meaningful contribution to the world. Society doesn't expect much from us past 70, but I'm determined to prove it wrong.
For my 75th birthday, I gave myself the gift of a new mission, launching The Ageless Traveler podcast and blog, soon followed by Ageless Tourism.
The Ageless Traveler has guided hundreds of listeners and readers to travel and overcome travel barriers with its mandate: Never Stop Traveling!
The Ageless Tourism initiative aims to elevate the tourism industry by helping it better attract, serve, and retain mature travelers. Ageless Tourism has empowered thousands to travel better, transformed the business practices of tourism companies, and even created new tourism-related jobs for both younger and older people, fostering a thriving, inclusive economy.
